MONKEY JUNK

Saturday night MONKEY JUNK took the stage and proved very quickly why this talented trio came in 3rd place overall at the recent International Blues Competition in Memphis. Man can they lay it down! Sweaty, high energy, rockin' blues with a bedroom funk bottom end. Tony D is well known to Ottawa area blues fans for his dynamite guitar. Steve Marriner at only age 25 is fast becoming one of the premier young blues men on the scene today - great harp (2009 Maple Blues Harmonica Player Of The Year) and he has now developed a powerful,  voice and some excellent guitar to go along with it. Matt Sobb is rock solid on drums. They have definitely got it happening - the total groove is even greater than the sum of its parts. They head to western Canada for a 5 week tour of Saskatchewan, Alberta, B.C. next month and I guarantee they are going to blow everyone away. Watch for their new CD "Tiger In Your Tank" released in early April.
